Global Arts + Humanities Discovery Theme promotes career diversity for graduate students at Ohio State.
Career Diversity means:
- Enabling graduate students to put their skills and interests to work inside and outside the academy
- Mobilizing university resources to support professional and career development among graduate students
- Connecting graduate students with opportunities in the central Ohio community and beyond
In collaboration with the Humanities Institute, Global Arts + Humanities Discovery Theme funded the creation of the Center for the Humanities in Practice (CHiP).
The Center for the Humanities in practice (CHiP) is the outreach center, consulting practice and think tank of the Humanities Institute at Ohio State. The Center works closely on projects with for-profit companies, non-profits, NGOs and governmental agencies that leverage the expertise and unique ways of seeing provided by the humanities. CHiP is a practice of the “translational humanities:” applying humanistic knowledge to solve challenging problems.
CHiP works to provide new opportunities and to catalyze the resources of Ohio State University for graduate students in the Arts and the Humanities so that they can put the full range of their skills and interests to work in the world and pursue a diverse range of careers within and beyond the academy. More information about CHiP can be found at the Center's website.
