Distance, climate, access and contact are four key themes in Climate Changing: On Artists, Institutions, and the Social Environment, an exhibition supported by a generous grant from the Global Arts + Humanities Discovery Theme and on view now at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
This related virtual workshop — which is free and open to all — features Maurice Stevens, a professor in the Department of Comparative Studies, and Lucille Toth, assistant professor in Ohio State’s Department of French and Italian (Newark campus) with an affiliation with Ohio State’s Department of Dance. They will create intersectional readings, using each theme to explore how people can create and tap into interrelation, collective purpose and the vibrancy of their aliveness in this moment of isolation and contestation. The workshop includes discussions, breakout rooms and choice of creative practice (e.g., movement, drawing, writing, etc.). Participants may want to have paper and a pen or pencil ready as well as any other art-making supplies and a space to move.
