The modes through which to analyze the infinite ways of literal and metaphorical extinction of places, knowledge and ways of life should not be restricted to an orthodox theory supposedly capable of solving all our problems. In this roundtable, panelists will discuss how different works linked to issues as diverse as educational policies, the notion of leisure and tourism, or certain catastrophist fictional narratives need to be approached through theoretical modes informed by the humanities, but also with a certain interdisciplinarity. Reflecting on which theories and which authors are used to defend our arguments will help us to better understand the nature of our work and how it intersects when dealing with the annual theme. This graduate fellow roundtable will feature Andrew Bishop (English), Alex Nikolaidis (Educational Studies) and Fernando Sánchez López (Spanish and Portuguese).  Moderated by Kris Paulsen (Associate Professor, History of Art) About the Graduate Research Grant Program The Graduate Research Grant Program enhances opportunities for graduate students (PhD and MFA) in the arts and humanities to advance their research and/or creative practice fostering cross-disciplinary inquiry in alignment with GAHDT’s Society of Fellows and its annual theme.
