Climate Changing Exhibition on View

The exhibition Climate Changing: On Artists, Institutions, and the Social Environment — supported by a Global Arts + Humanities Discovery Theme grant— is on view through May 9 at the Wexner Center for the Arts (see the COVID-19 safety precautions).
This lively and thought-provoking show — featuring nearly 20 artists from around the globe — explores issues of access, identity, race, economic inequality, labor, migration, ableism and climate change. Admission is free all day on Sundays as well as Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m.
The gallery guide features essays, entries about the exhibited artists and a roundtable discussion among the faculty advisory council for the exhibition. And a free talk by Climate Changing artists Carolyn Lazard and Constantina Zavitsanos — moderated by dancer and choreographer Alice Sheppard and featuring others from the cross-disability arts community — will be live-streamed April 8 at 7 p.m. as part of the Diversities in Practice series in conjunction with Ohio State’s Department of Art and Living Culture Initiative.
Watch for forthcoming videos and blog posts on the Wex’s blog by faculty advisory committee members, who hail from various departments at Ohio State. In addition, Wex Artist Residency Award recipient and Climate Changing artist Torkwase Dyson, who recently transformed her sculpture in the galleries to speak to shifting conditions of movement and environment, will lead a workshop for students from Ohio State’s Knowlton School of Architecture and Department of Art in early April on Zoom, featuring LeRonn P. Brooks, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Collections at the Getty Research Institute.
