Processing the COVID-19 Pandemic through Poetry is a series of events using poetry to process the COVID-19 pandemic. This is being organized by Zoë Brigley in the English department in April and May.

Funded by the Arts Council of England and the Global Arts + Humanities Discovery Theme, this month sees the publication of a special issue of the international journal, Magma Poetry 79. Part of this project was bringing together poets and environmental scientists from Columbus to collaborate: their new work will be presented on May 21, 2021. There will be readings by Ohio poets alongside international writers, as well as craft workshops open to anyone wanting to process the lockdown in words. Behind the scenes, there are also special workshops happening in cooperation with Proyecto Mariposas, a non-profit supporting Latina Girls and their mothers, and Obsidian Foundation for black writers. Please come, attend, share, and join in with writing down our experiences of these unprecedented times.
