Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Danielle V. Schoon is a cultural anthropologist with interests in migration, performance, and the politics of identity. She is a lecturer in the departments of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures, Sociology, and Political Science. Her current research focuses on the 'politics of presence' for Roma ("Gypsies") in Turkey. Danielle frequently takes advantage of professional development opportunities to improve her teaching and is an advocate of active learning and community engagement.
